The window film and PPF industries have been buzzing with news recently. It started last week when Eastman announced its intent to acquire the business and assets of Matrix Films LLC, marketer of PremiumShield Performance Films, including its extended line of automotive film patterns. Then Ceramic Pro, a supplier of ceramic coatings based in San Diego, announced this week that it is entering the window tint market. Sam Azizian, marketing director, says a soft launch occurred last November during the online SEMA 360 event. But with the cancellation of SEMA 2020, and the online event never really taking off, it’s no surprise that many people may not be aware of this news. The company describes KAVACA® Window Films as a line of premium window tint solutions for the automotive industry, including KAVACA Ceramic IR and KAVACA Carbon CS, that integrate nano ceramic and nano carbon technology capable of blocking up to 97 percent of heat generating infrared radiation.
This will undoubtedly be a huge part of the company’s display at SEMA 2021. And speaking of SEMA, it’s anyone’s guess what that event will look like in light of COVID-19 and the spread of the Delta variant, A few high-profile window film and PPF companies decided not to exhibit this year, but those in attendance will have new products to unveil. The new application of West Hall will provide bigger space for window film and PPF exhibitors.
