Eastman Chemical Company has completed updates to its urethane extrusion line at its plant in Martinsville, Va. The new line will have a direct impact on its window film and paint protection film business.
“The integration provided by this urethane line to produce the raw materials needed to manufacture our paint protection films is a testament to our ongoing investments to support the current and future needs of our dealers and channel partners,” says Travis Smith, vice president and general manager of Eastman’s performance films business.
This upgrade is part of a continued investment in product development “to support development and growth of the window film and protective film markets,” according to the company, which is also working on enhanced film patterns and software. A new generation of paint protection film is also in the works.
“We are excited that this investment provides significant flexibility for future innovation of Eastman’s paint protection film portfolio,” says Darrell Reed, commercial director.
